the vow of ahimsa

Taking the Vow of Ahimsa
Reciting the  Vow of Ahimsa is a powerful practice that reflects a sacred intention. It is a simple and light practice. The law of Ahimsa is practicing non-harm to others and to ourselves. Living Ahimsa is about cultivating personal awareness, light, and inner harmony, and consciously making them be present in our daily lives, and in all, it is a way of life from the way we walk, what we think, what we eat, how we respond to others, to every single aspects of our lives. Living Ahimsa allows us to embark in a process of self-healing during which we’re forced to confront our unresolved desires, fears, weaknesses and hurts, from within a space of love. Self-healing is about love, faith and compassion, always.

Once we take the Vow of Ahimsa, and continue the practice of reciting the vow every day, we are reminded of the vow when it counts. If we betray our vow, the awareness of the broken vow proves that our awareness is growing. As our awareness grows, we embrace the nature of our thoughts and actions. Saying the vow with the heart of intention will help us to remain mindful of our actions, speech and thoughts. As we increase our awareness of the world inside of us and the world around us, we begin to realize that we are interconnected to the universe, and then we can energetically change the inner self. Nurturing the awareness of the Vow of Ahimsa in our lives transforms our actions, speech and thoughts, keeping us from causing harm, pain, and hurt to ourselves and any living being. The Vow of Ahimsa is a state of being; it’s a blessing or sacred intention stored within our greater mind, and we will be reminded as we go about every day life.
